About Me

I run several companies related to LEDs. The main one is www.qstled.com which is dedicated to large screen (such as the ones you would see in Times Square.) The new company I'm working on deals with LED lighting.

With the advent of the internet, I enjoy to go on what i call "workaytions." visiting a region for up to 2 weeks visiting new clients and working from the beaches :)

My wife's name is Melody, and we have a 2 year old (as of 2015) named Joshua. My chinese name is "Jia", I've gone by "John" for business and friends outside of family and old classmates.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

none as of right now. I signed up in 2010 but just had recently logged back ahead of a vacation with my wife in Thailand.

I use airbnb extensively for my business trips, and it'd seem to be couchsurfing has gotten its act together with the new face lift.

I hosted my friend (who was down and out) for over a year at my place. My mantra has always been: "mi casa is su casa"... Life's too short to not help others that are in need.

What's most attractive about Couchsurfing is the ability for travelers to get engaged with the local culture and tap into the local scene. Also, a trip is always better with friend or family at the destination and I hope to make friends for a life-time on here.

Interests

In the future I'd like to help orphans, senior and the poor.

I'm not religious but am spiritual and try to read the Bible as much as I can.

I've founded a series of "English Corner" groups in the city of Shenzhen (where I go a lot for business) with over 300 participates in 4 groups at the present.
