One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbed El Nevado del Tolima Peak from 2000 to 4000m in two days. Called "El Tolimazo", has to be one of the best mountain climbs in the world. Went diving to Komodo Islands, Indonesia and saw probably the best reefs in the world! Attended a conference in Seaweeds in Jeju Island, South Korea and learned how people around the world are using seaweeds for research, food, medicines, etc. Met in Berlin, Germany, the most passionate people in Diatom cladistics and learned how much these phytoplanktonic organisms really make up 50% of the Oxygen we breathe and why it is important to protect our marine resources. Having a chance to study the Mangrove forest-what is left of it to industrialization, in Xingfeng, Hsinchu County, Taiwan. Successful attempts at growing K. candel species may help us study the connection between mangrove growth and their potential as buffers of industrial pollution into the oceans.
