About Me

Hello! My name is Jaime and I currently live in Monterrey, Mexico.

I have a freelance job that I can pretty much do from anywhere in Mexico and also do movie reviews and am the editor in chief for a website called Waves Magazine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to have a different experience with travelling and Couchsurfing seems to be it since it gets you closer to the people that live in the cities you are visiting.

In the future I'd like to have a space for people to couchsurf.

Interests

Music festivals and concerts, mostly. Also bars with good music and modern art museums.
My favorite activity when travelling is walking through the city or town and getting to know its culture by observing the people and their activities.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I'm such a geek regarding music. I do not have a favorite genre but my favorite bands are Radiohead, Brand New, Portugal. The Man, Circa Survive, Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, Fugazi, Air, Father John Misty, Björk, Pixies, etc.

Movies: I'm a movie critic so I am used to watch many movies of all genres but some of my favorites are: Inglourious Basterds, Before Sunrise, The Cabin in the Woods, Aliens, It Follows, Rosemary's Baby, Pulp Fiction, Boogie Nights, Hereditary, The VVitch, 2001: A Space Oddissey, Gravity, Halloween, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I organized a music festival called Homónimo in Monterrey, Mexico this year. We're aiming for a second edition in 2019.

Teach, Learn, Share

I don't think I can teach a lot but can help with Spanish or English and have great conversations about music, films or the shows.

I'd like to learn as much as I can about everything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am very respectful of the people and the spaces that they provide. I'll try to be as best as possible and help with any chores.

I am also up to conversations, hangouts and movie and music recommendations, so you will never be bored.
