ABOUT ME

I'm a somewhat recent college grad who was bitten by the travel bug very young. This summer, I'm headed out to explore the remaining contiguous states I haven't yet been to (less than 10 left!) I'm travelling by myself on what I guess you could call a soul-searching adventure, but I'm hoping to meet lots of new people and build some great friendships. I've been told I'm a pretty upbeat person and I can get along with almost anyone and anything.

PHILOSOPHY

I've recently realized the gravity of the saying "It takes a village to raise a child." I feel like I have found my passion in developing communities in which children can grow into aware, holistic, kind people. This takes a lot, and I am hoping to spend my time involved in this mission in some way.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm only surfing right now since I'm not at home to host. I'd really like to return the favor as soon as I get back to Nashville though! I've got a great couch in the Vanderbilt area with a love for the city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm quite new with the CS community but I've stayed a few different places on my trip so far. I've had an incredibly positive experience with both of my hosts and would love to keep that up!

I'm all about helping out in any way I can while surfing - I've tutored kids and built a grill in exchange for a bed so far.

I truly do like most types of music. Some favorites include Jason Mraz, CCR, Kid Cudi, Alison Krauss, Needtobreathe, Muse, and The Black Keys.

Movies? Hmmmm... I'm a big fan of action-y, indie, and children's movies. For example, Children of Men, Like Crazy, and the Lorax.

I love love love to read but haven't had much time for it recently. I literally just got done re-reading To Kill A Mockingbird, and I'm so glad I did. I definitely have a different perspective since living in the south. I'm always down for reading suggestions!

The most amazing day of my life was when I visited the shrine of Nizamuddin in Delhi, India. Words cannot describe the atmosphere of the surrounding market, the Qawwali performance, or the hospitality of our hosts. I will remember the sights, sounds, and smells of this place for as long as I can imagine.
