About Me

Hello,

I'm a 34 year old designer (in the advertising industry) who also produces electronic music (techno, mostly).
I was born and raised in Lisbon, Portugal, but changed vistas in 2010, when I moved to Rome for 4 years.
Now I live in Amsterdam since the beginning of 2015, and i'm loving it. Although I do tend to work a lot, I find my time for some fun as well.

I love to party (and Amsterdam is amazing for that, although you probably knew that already), but I also love to have a nerdy and deep conversation at a bar or at home over a bottle of wine, be it either work, life, friends, science or anything which might come up. I love to learn from others and i'm also thrilled to show something new.
It's hard to evaluate my own personality and even harder to sum it up in one sentence, but my close friends always describe me as very down to earth, and quite pragmatic. I also tend to say the truth even if it's harsh, but I also keep politeness on top of my behaviour checklist, so we should be fine!

I am completely open on any subject, although I tend get annoyed when people try to convince me to be a vegan or vegetarian, even more so because i completely respect this dietary choice, I simply do not want to be convinced otherwise and expect to be also respected about that personal choice - other than that, there's not really any other subject which might annoy me.

I am a smoker, and I do smoke at home, so take that into account because i am not going to limit it, and if you're a smoker you're also free to smoke in the house.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am new on this, and some friends recommended it to me to meet new people, since I have a spare room - which is small but cosy, and it's quite close to the centre of Amsterdam.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: a lot of dark techno, good old school house, and a lot of varied stuff from electro industrial to darkwave and beyond.

Movies: Fight Club; Inception; The Game; The Goodfellas; The Godfather; Margin Call

Books: descriptive books like The Perfume, A Casa dos Budas Ditosos, Straight to Hell. And a lot of technical literature which you might find boring as hell.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Define amazing? That's really subjective ;)
If altruistic: I've saved someone's life, twice
If glamorous: I've toured Brasil in a dj tour
If developmental: I've lived in 5 different countries

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach about whatever my guest wants to learn and I have knowledge about.
Learn whatever I don't know and my guest wants to teach me about.
Share whatever is to be shared in the moment. Including the moment itself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Apart from my company and assistance in whatever is needed, I share a cosy, small 1 person bedroom with a big window and storage space, and a 1 person mattress with pillow, sheets, duvet and storage room for some clothes and personal belonging, along with the living room which has a couch and a big TV with chromecast. wifi is of course available. there is a complete kitchen with stove (no oven, only microwave), and of course a small toilet with shower. And also a nice balcony which is sunny all day long (when it's sunny, after all it's Amsterdam). The apartment is 10/15 minutes away by bus from Centraal Station, and less than 10 minutes from the canal ring by bike. There is a bike rental in front of the house, but if I have an extra bike available you're free to use it.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Brazil, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, United Kingdom
