ABOUT ME

my family and I LOVE adventures and meeting new people.

We are a fun loving bunch who would way rather experience the world through interacting with the people who actually live in it rather than from a hotel room. Plus, we live on a shoestring budget and love the economics of things like couch surfing.

Myself and my wife are both in our mid-30's and we have two eight year old children Nova and Asher.

We love being outside, we have no problem helping with a project while we are around and love to laugh.

One of the best ways to experience a new place is with the people who actually live there!

Kayaking, rafting, snowboarding, skateboarding, guitar and singing, song writing, building stuff: houses, motorcycles, inventions, etc...., fixing things, turning "junk" into useable and beautiful creations, hiking, climbing and on and on and on!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few summers back we sold a LOT of our stuff moved out of our cozy little blue house in a great neighbourhood in Golden BC and bought a big chunk of BARE land out in the Bleaberry. We moved our family (two 4 year old kids, a cat, my wife and myself) "off the grid" into a 14ft long, 1973 travel trailer, built a yurt, moved into that and survived the coldest winter on file in Golden in a long time! AND LIKED IT!!!!!

We are still living in our yurt 4 years later and are midway trough building our dream home. A large Earthship. (Google earthsip if you haven't heard of one before. They are amazing!).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Jair is a handy man extraordinare. I am proficent at all manner of repairs and building: automotive, home, etc.... I'm always happy to help out any way I can.
I also am a singer song writer and am always happy to share in music making.

Mel is a wonderful homemaker and happynin the kitchen. If you need a meal cooked while we are around she's your girl! Also loves gardening and always willing to help with a smile.

Nova and Asher are well behaved hard working off-grid life kids. No stranger to chores and actually enjoy helping with anything that's going on around the home.
