About Me

Hi, I'm Jess and I'm a British born New Zealander who grew up in Indonesia and did a gap year in France! I had an incredible time working as an au pair in Alsace, and thanks to couchsurfing I was able to do heaps of traveling around Europe and meet lots of amazing people.

I just finished studying at the University of Otago in Dunedin, and now I'm in Wellington working as a public servant. Unfortunately I cannot host due to my current living situation by I am happy to meet up on the weekends and show you what an awesome city Wellington is!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been hosted by some incredible people in Europe and thanks to them I have explored new cities in ways I've never thought of doing! I've also had the pleasure of hosting a couple of surfers and I'm looking forward to hosting more in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

I will listen to anything except heavy metal! My dad is a music teacher so I grew up with lots of classical and jazz music.

Any movie with Hugh Grant in it is a good movie! My favourite movie would have to be Love Actually, with Little Miss Sunshine coming in a close second.

I love reading most books, especially non-fiction.

I also need to add another category which I think is equally important - theatre! I love love love watching plays and musicals. Best musicals I have seen so far have been the Lion King and Phantom of the Opera - goose bumps! Best play I've seen would have to be The 39 Steps. It was hilarious, I was laughing the whole time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sunset at Ayers Rock (Uluru) in Australia. It was so breathtakingly beautiful, I just wish I had taken more photos!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Brunei Darussalam, China, Cook Islands, Denmark, Fiji, France, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Indonesia, New Zealand, United Kingdom
