About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To give twice as much as I receive

ABOUT ME

Hey, I'm Jake and I'm a doctoral student from San Diego, Ca. If you have a couch I'd like to sleep on it. If you need a couch, I got you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

To help and get help with places to stay on whatever journey we're on. Also, to meet people & make friends I otherwise would most likely never gotten the opportunity to know.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am fairly new to couch surfing but have been blown away with the few interactions I've had. I am constantly amazed with how gracious and welcoming the community is and am grateful I get to build connections with amazing people who would have otherwise been strangers.

I was introduced to couch surfing through a good friend and am only now getting the opportunity to experience it first hand.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
Getting Stoned with Savages - Maarten Troost
Dharma Bums - Jack Kerouac
Scar Tissue - Larry Sloman/ Anthony Kiedis

Music:
I enjoy all music, but am particularly fond of house music. DJs like Steve Bug, Guy Gerber, and Jermey Orlander keep me movin' and groovin' all night long.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled to Australia to be on the usa's junior Olympic baseball team.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a firm believer that you can learn the greatest lessons from the most unexpected places. A big draw to couch surfing for me is to help such occurrences occur more often. It's to easy to get stuck in the rhythm of your daily life and people closest to you. Couch surfing allows you to grow and break that bubble.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a PhD student studying sports performance. If you like sports, let's talk performance. I can also answer any health and fitness questions you may have. If I don't know the answer I can try to sift through all the nonsense you find on the internet.

I am also a closet home chef. If interested I can cook a pretty decent meal (at least I think so haha).

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Fiji, Mexico
