Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling is already expensive and people are already the best gateway to the culture and life of any country/city/region/place etc. So, if there's a world-wide community that exists to make lodging cheaper VIA connecting you to the people of the place you are trying to experience, why wouldn't you join?! Couchsurfing seems like a way to share your culture and experience that of others in a much more meaningful way than yet another tour bus.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have climbed to the peak of the Penalara, the highest mountain in the Guadarrama range which splits the Iberian Peninsula (i.e. Spain and Portugal)! The still shallow lakes near the top are crystal clear surrounded with verdant greenery, providing a perfect resting spot with a serene view of the surrounding landscape for miles.
