I've spent the past five years living pretty nomadically, originally while traveling for work with an industrial supply chain company and more recently while traveling for fun and love while working for a DC-based, tech-driven nonprofit. I believe couchsurfing is a fantastic way to bring extra fun, connections, and awareness to the nomadic lifestyle. It allows for more genuine cultural exchanges and a quicker understanding of places. This site facilitated some great experiences for me while working what could have been a fairly solitary job and now I hope to revisit it in a new chapter. And as soon as I have a home in which to host (or at least a s steady place to pop-up my tent) I look forward to repaying some of the hospitality I've found.

Music - I'm the type to find random Spotify playlists and let them shuffle, I'm currently exploring Santana and Nigerian Psychedelic Rock but I usually seek out hip-hop (90's or 90's-influenced) or jazz (Latin or New Orleans brass)

Movies - Always down to check out obscure indie/foreign films but I like blockbusters, sci-fi, action, comedy, drama, really anything. Some of my favorites are 2001 A Space Odyssey, Waking Life, and Pineapple Express depending on my mood.

Books - I love the way magical realism toes the line between worlds, so Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Haruki Murakami, and anyone else in that vein. Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle is the book that reignited my love for reading. I also enjoy books on self-reflection and growth, typically in eBook format so I can take notes to look back on.

I am always looking to learn from people that have found their passions and I am more than happy to share my thoughts on just about anything, I am a very open person and love to discuss the things that fill me with joy and wonder like the mystery of conscious experience, the value of natural beauty, and the value of building special connections with the people and places around us.

I love to cook and that's been one of the things I've had to give up a bit during my travels so I'd love to cook you a meal (at home I usually cook vegetarian stuff and like to explore flavorful sauce-based dishes like curries from India or SE Asia) but I am always happy to try something new and find sharing a meal as a great way to explore new cultures and open people up to deep conversation.
