ABOUT ME

We met each other while attending college in Hawaii. Been married 13 years now, and somehow no kids or pets yet. We hate the idea of a 40-hour work week and a lifetime career, so we're always trying to figure out alternative sources of income. We're not wealthy, but we're conservative with our spending which allows anything extra to go toward travel. We took a chance in moving to Phoenix and have ended up really enjoying it. We've been here 8 years now and appreciate the weirdness of the desert.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We heard about CS years ago but didn't read up about it until we decided to take the road trip of a lifetime (2009) across the United States. This community is amazing! We have always offered our house to traveling musicians, decent people, and anyone who needs a place to stay, and now CS provides a way for people to actually take us up on the offer. It's been a lot of fun and we've made some forever friends. We have an enormous and comfortable couch and we would love to share Phoenix with you! We want to build an earthship (house made from recycled materials) in the middle of the desert. We want to teach others that it's possible to grow a garden all year long, heat and cool your house without depending on a power plant, and enjoy an increased quality of life through building relationships and sustainable communities.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, so awesome. There are cool people all over the world and you can find a lot of them HERE! It's great to meet masses of people who share this common interest of linking cultures, values, stories, love and lives. If you don't have friends to spend this life with, there's not a whole lot left that matters.

Algo increíble que he hecho

Hiked the Napali Coast in Kauai, Hawaii. It was not only breathtakingly beautiful, but it was fun to meet some extreme outdoor adventurists.

Experienced the totality of a full solar eclipse in Stanley, Idaho in 2017. It was so moving, we will definitely travel to see another in the future.

We eat and cook EVERYTHING. We like to cook for others whether they are staying in our home or if we are visiting theirs.

Jake can teach you guitar/bass. He writes a lot of music and performs regularly with different bands. Our record collection keeps getting bigger.
Cody can teach you yoga. If you have never tried bikram (hot) yoga, you should definitely try at least one class! She wants to build an earthship and integrate permaculture into everyday living.
We both love to talk and hear different perspectives. Travel/Politics/Religion/Conspiracy/Aliens/Sustainability/Universe... we aren't afraid to talk about it and we definitely want to hear what you think.

Qué puedo ofrecer a los anfitriones

We have a guest room with a queen size air mattress, or a big couch in the living room. There is a shared bathroom for the entire house. There is a large backyard and our front porch has two hammocks available for relaxing. We also have two bikes you can use to see the city.
