About Me

My name is Jake, I play music, write, read, climb and love to exercise, and I'm into meeting all kinds of different people. I love drawing and making different kinds of art. I've been published in several local publications in Louisville Kentucky like local magazines, both print and online and smaller DIY published zines. I'm into old retro videogames and new video games too, and artificial intelligence and virtual reality are increasingly more interesting to me the more I learn about them. I'm into comics and graphic novels and I worked at a comic store for a while so I know a little about a lot of different things. I love Batman! I work with video editing when I have the time, and have done some editing work professionally. I've also done some farm work and helped local farms based in Kentucky at their CSA drop offs and farmers markets on seasonal and weekly schedules. I'm also working on moving from a vegetarian to a vegan diet right now and I getting involved with English conversation classes and meeting for refugees fleeing from places like Syria and Sudan and am actively involved in protests with LSURJ in Louisville Kentucky. Ask me about my views on politics, the world, mediation, music, art, anything. I can go on for hours.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I set up this account in order to meet people when traveling to other cities and even other countries. I'm planning on and working toward teaching English in South Korea in the coming spring semester so a Couchsurfing account just made sense in order to get myself more connected in the travel community.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is a difficult question. I guess to me, and thus far that I can remember, I took an almost three day train ride from Chicago to San Francisco. It was a difficult experience to replicate or describe. But going across the country, seeing the deserts and mountains and meeting a handful of strange, odd and interesting folks along the way was so amazing. San Francisco was an amazing place and the west coast is beautiful. I'm sure there's something else amazing I've done but this one sticks out for some reason. A wild and educational time.

Teach, Learn, Share

Ask me anything. I'll probably have an opinion or thought on just about anything. If I don't, then I want to learn more about it. The thing that I always tell myself is that a new experience can be the most valuable thing that can happen at almost any moment. A new different podcast, a new band, a new sound or a new picture. Be open to all thoughts, people and minds.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Manners, different types of people and personalities, experience new doggies and kitties, cook for hosts, share life experiences and whatnot, new types of conversation, new sensations, etc etc etc

Countries I’ve Visited
