Hello there. So my name is Jake and I'm from the outskirts of London/Hertfordshire. I'm currently on a 1 year visa for New Zealand after spending 2 months travelling Indonesia and I don't miss London one bit! ...yet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to mix it up from just staying in hostels, they're great but I feel like I'm restricting myself to just fellow travellers and I want to get to know the locals and learn their stories and secret tips to where to go! You get to know someone better over one night or a few days than hanging out with 20 other backpackers in one go.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - I try not to pigeon hole myself into one genre - but my go to is classic old school rock with the likes of Gun's N Rose's and Aerosmith. Stereophonics are my current favourite band but I also enjoy anything where you can feel the artists emotion.

Massive fan of movies - a few from my top 10 would have to include: Into the Wild, Pulp Fiction, Fight Club, Lords of DogTown and so on. There's probably 25 films in my Top 10..

Books - Whatever takes my fancy from reading the blurb. Never read quicker than when I read Harry Potter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In Indonesia I climbed Mt. Rinjani which by itself was incredible but while at the summit I experienced an earthquake followed just hours after, with an eruption!
