Overview
About Me
I'm currently a happily funemployed recent college grad doing my best to surround myself with good people in good places. Highlights over the last couple of months have included some beautiful hot springs in California, learning to weave in Guatemala, and riding lots of sketchy dirt bikes in Sierra Leone.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My favorite travel experiences have always been the ones where I try to slow down and get to know a place through the locals' eyes. It's the people that make a place unique and interesting, and getting to know people from all sorts of backgrounds is really rewarding. Couchsurfing makes it much easier to make connections and find friendly faces in unfamiliar places.
Interests
Adventuring (on foot, snowshoes, skis, canoe, bike... especially if there's a swimming hole along the way!), farming, foraging, and cooking with tasty local foods, swing and contra dancing, and ungulates (especially the woolly ones)
Music, Movies, and Books
I'll listen to anything but country. A few favorites: OK Go, Tallest Man on Earth, Shaky Graves, Coldplay, Fleet Foxes, and Vampire Weekend. I'm pretty film illiterate, but as for TV shows I'm a big fan of Twin Peaks, Orphan Black, and Broadchurch. I usually go for environmental nonfiction for reading material, but I'm slowly starting to work on the Kalevala, the national epic of Finland.

Teach, Learn, Share
I love to cook and would be happy to trade favorite dishes! I'm also pretty handy with farm and garden chores. I've also taught people to knit and spin wool before.
