About Me

Hey, I'm Jake. I'm a 25 year old living a semi-nomadic life. I lived in Phoenix for about a year and a half before quitting my job and backpacking Europe for a summer. Afterwards, my girlfriend and I moved to Denver. We are now planning a US roadtrip for summer 2016!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing because I am in a bit of a bind. I am leaving Denver in June and was hoping to have a place to stay until then to finish up my job, however that is not the case. Just need a place to crash a few days during the week.

When I have a place of my own again, I will definitely become a host. I have used AirBnb on several occasions and am a firm believer in the experience that couchsurfing offers. It is a great way to save money for truly matters when traveling, not just a hotel bed. It's also a good way to meet locals and share some great experiences.

Interests

I love anything outdoors. I hike, backpack, and camp a lot, as well as run, play sports, and bike. I also do the usual Netflix and chill a lot too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love anything Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Game of Thrones. Huge fan of Country music, but pretty much like anything. I read a lot of the classics, like Dickens, and Twain, but also love Edward Abbey and anything travel related. One of the best books I've read recently is Turn Right at Machu Picchu. It really made me want to get out to Peru and do some backpacking in the Andes!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've hiked the Haute Route in Switzerland. Look it up... it's seriously awesome. Or just check out my photos on my blog http://thetravelinggeiger.com
