About Me

I was born and raised in Olympia/Lacey WA. School was always a struggle. I had a pretty bad case of the ADD and could not sit still for very long without getting restless. Went to the local community college, SPSCC for 3 years, then transferred to The Evergreen State College where I had a lot of experiences that really expanded my worldly view. During my time there I was part of the circus club which became a real passion.

Some of the other cool things I've done during this time were building a professional arm wrestling table without really ever arm wrestling before, taught myself gymnastics and taught gymnastic rings classes at a local gym, WWOOFed on an organic farm in the mountains outside of Eureka, I taught myself how to train and ride horses, I became part of a group of aerialists and trained on the trapeze and rope, I taught myself how to survive in the woods, I invented a pull up bar that is designed for training to do a one arm pull up. I started a fitness group which meets all over town in different locations and practices body movements and calisthenics (not like experimental dance).

After graduating I went on a bike tour that I was embarrassingly unprepared for. I made it to Canada after 200 miles of riding and with my bike on its last leg. After that, I went to Mexico for a week for my best friends wedding. Now I am trying to find my place in this world. After many years of searching for it in books and Youtube videos, I have come to the realization that I will probably never find it in either of these things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've graduated from college, most of my friends have married and had kids, I've lived in the same small town for the great majority of my life, and there are not a whole lot of opportunities for exciting and meaningful careers nor skill development.

I've been in the same place, hanging out with the same people, doing the same things. But I am becoming restless. I want to get out and see the world, meet new people, and discover what else is out there.

I keeping hearing Austin is the place to be, so I kinda wanna check it out.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: How to swim like a fish, teach you about knives (handling, styles, making), Gymnastics, arm wrestling, juggling, acrobatics, handstands, how to tie very useful knots,

Learn: Anything involving human movement, any thing having to do with strategy, marketing, entrepreneurship, philosophy. If there a skill is cool or useful, I want to learn it.

Share: not sure what to write here, If I have anything to share I will. Ain't no such thing as something for nothing. Maybe you need some heavy lifting? Hard labor? A job you've been putting off? Heck, a simple roof overhead is worth a lot to me :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Teach you how to do a proper handstand, how to juggle, how to build the ultimate pull up bar, how to tecktonic dance, how to strength train for gymnastics strength, the techniques for arm wrestling, how swim like a Phelps, how to back flip, how to learn things very quickly, how to cliff dive
