About Me

Sonder:
n. the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and inherited craziness—an epic story that continues invisibly around you like an anthill sprawling deep underground, with elaborate passageways to thousands of other lives that you’ll never know existed, in which you might appear only once, as an extra sipping coffee in the background, as a blur of traffic passing on the highway, as a lighted window at dusk.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Everyone has a unique set of skills, experiences, and wisdom. I hope to learn something from everyone I meet!

Couchsurfing offers the unique opportunity to turn a stranger into a friend.

Interests

I love to get outside as often as I can, whether it be hiking, backpacking, camping, rock climbing, swimming, mountain biking or playing soccer.

I’ve been very interested in gardening lately—both to grow human food & provide food for our hard-working pollinators. I spend many hours improving pollinator habitat appreciating the little creatures of this world.

I enjoy being surrounded by nature. I've worked with seals, sea lions, endangered frogs, and wood ducks.

I studied Conservation Biology and Spanish at UC Davis.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like a wide variety of music and would love for you to show me your favorite artists.

My favorite genres are reggae, reggaeton, indie, and hip hop. Some favorite artists include Portugal. The Man, Hip Abduction, Odesza, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Hermanos Gutiérrez, & The Black Keys.

I love to read. Mostly sci-fi & fantasy, as well as lots of nonfiction about nature. Some of my favorites are Braiding Sweetgrass, Dune, Sapiens, and the Song of Fire and Ice series.

There’s a documentary called Listers I recently watched about 2 brothers who try to see as many bird species they can in 1 year. Highly recommend!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to share what I've learned about wildlife, Spanish, or anything else of interest to you. I'm currently learning how to play the ukulele and would love to jam/learn from the musicians out there.

I would be extremely grateful to any Couchsurfers who would be willing to teach me a favorite recipe of theirs.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to cook for my hosts, teach outdoor skills, help around the house, etc. -let me know what you're interested in or need help with and I am more than happy to help!
