Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Jake Warden and I grew up in the great state of Utah. I currently study in the Honors business program at the University of Utah. I strongly believe that traveling and meeting people is what life is all about. I also believe sharing culture is something that not all people get the opportunity to do. I consider myself a very happy person, and I have seen this have a contagious effect on others. If you want to know more, or hablar en español, send me a message! (mándame un mensaje)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am always looking for new people to spend time and talk to, even if I'm out with friends. I would be extremely happy to have the opportunity to stay with people who know the area well and talk with them about the history and parts of their city that most tourists would never know. I also look forward to hosting people when I return home to the states. Like I said before, I have a passion for getting to know the world, but I believe that the people, and the culture are the most important things in different places.
Interests
I have played sports my entire life, and I wouldn't be the same person had I not. There are not many things I enjoy more than immersing myself in nature. I love to go out and have a good time, but I also enjoy drinking a beer in the sun and enjoying people's company.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite artist is Kendrick Lamar. I enjoy listening to hip-hop that has lyrical substance. I also enjoy hard rock bands such as Breaking Benjamin, FFDP, and Disturbed. And of course, you can never go wrong with some good classic rock.. Led Zeppelin, Rush, Metallica.
My favorite movies are comedies: All Chris Farley films, Step Brothers, Borat, etc. I also love anything with Will Smith.
I am not a big book reader, as I usually stick to reading relevant news articles, but I do enjoy the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Living for a week on nothing but Hawaiian pizza and beer during my spring break trip to the Kendrick concert in Tempe was pretty amazing, but I think that the most amazing thing I've done in life was to have the opportunity to attend a private high school and meet international exchange students from over 20 countries around the world while studying in Utah.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to teach people the English language. I also love to have a conversation about almost anything. Whether it's sports, medicine, business, science, technology, politics, religion, I learn best through intelligent conversation.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I have a vast amount of unique experiences that I love sharing with people. I also love to talk about my home state of Utah as well as help people understand the impact that the LDS (Mormon) religion has on the state. Although I am not religious, I have studied a lot of the aspects of the Mormon faith as well as the non denominational Christian faith. I would also love the opportunity to stay with a host who speaks Spanish so I can continue to practice the language.
