Hello there! My name is Jacob. I go by both Jake and Jacob, so choose whatever you like more:)
I am 28 years old, and i currently work in the oilfields of Alaska as a carpenter building things and doing general construction.
I am also an certified EMT and was working as one in Minneapolis, MN prior to coming to the Alaskan oil fields for work. I enjoy being an EMT much more than this work but i make a lot more money in the oil fields. so i decided to come up here and suffer for a short period of time, save money, then use the money to travel and fund adventures.
I was in the United States Army for a few years and served in Iraq. Ive recieved many commendations (medals) including a Purple Heart for being wounded in comat.

Im on couch surfing mostly to meet new people all over the world. in particular, people who live in countries that i plan on traveling to where i don't know anyone.. A place to crash would be awesome, i can always pay for a place myself though. But, if i were to crash with someone i would have a better chance to get to know someone genuinely.

I also am trying to learn Italian. My dream would to be fluent someday and i hope to meet someone who can help me make that possible.. I have started on my own and i am trying. but, i will take all the help i can get.:)
