ABOUT ME

Lived in NZ for 6 years then hit the road for a 1yr+ trip to india and sri lanka.

Back in the UK since 2008, settled in Bristol.

Very self sufficient, love spicy food, churn thru the paperbacks, loved yoga but have now forsaken it for running and swimming, although do sometimes fit in a sneaky Bikram session for some reason.

Have done some work in the Indian Microfinance sector, which not appears to be self destructing rather unfortunately, recently be found earning a living in the salt mines of commercial and investment banking as a contractor but have hit the buffers with that and decided there is more to life. Currently working for a charity supporting Dalit communities in India.

Have met a lot of lovely people thru the site. Couchsurfing.com is like a filter - you get to choose what you want rather than what life throws at you. Gotta be a good thing right?

Interests

Competing bodies of thought, Ashtanga yoga, the SAS (its every little boy's obsession...), existing on a diet of asian foods alone. I love the writing of John Updike and the music of William Orbit and Jill Scott plus a bit of tabla playing too. Hmmm - just bought a flash new camera which has fast become the fave toy. Surfed in beautiful and tragic Sri Lanka. Now working less, swimming and playing tennis more.

I can probably begin to teach people something of the following should they desire - Skiing, French, Winemaking, Financial planning, Selling, Yoga. No guarantees tho!

I want to learn more about -
Ashtanga yoga, Meditation (Zen and Calm Abiding), Tantra, Maths, training for marathons, Japanese ceramics, sports psychology and French cuisine.
