About Me

I find special magic in legible handwriting and an extra half of a sandwich saved for someone else. A surprise in the form of a handwritten letter or a beer bought from down the way... it's the source of these heads-up pennies left on the sidewalk that I hope to stay close to for the rest of my life. With the world so discovered, I'll air on the side that there is still hidden treasure in the right places if you know where to look as well as where to leave it behind for others.

Working with my hands, exciting stories, the woods, and the friendship between my head and my heart... I believe in the lessons of Dogs and even in the mysterious, unexplainable forces of Love and Positivity.

The science, history, and cultural-unifying capabilities of Tea is what has lead to a lot of my recent travels around other countries as well as my own.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As an ancient manifest would once describe, I wish to go forth with an empty cup and continue to be a student of all that the world has to offer... ideally for as long as I can. With all that exists, I hope to learn from mountains that remind me how small I am, bugs that remind me how big, animals that remind me of my immediate kin, and just how good peanut butter tastes after a long hike. With all that I learn, I hope its magic will shine through everything I put my heart and soul into for the World.

One day, I will bring my own dream to life: Running a tea shop hostel where human-interaction can thrive over a hot cup or tea while opportunities of cultural communication, artisan crafts, and hopeful ideas can be shared.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently I met a man named Dwayne. He was homeless at the time and, although I had helped bring sandwiches and conversation out to anyone who needed company in times past, "D" and I made a pact to have lunch every day for a week on the bench near my work. I would bring him half my bagel sandwich and we would talk about what it would take to improve his situation after our first meeting alluded to the fact that he had cut his arm from wrist to elbow and couldn't use his hands for his moving job anymore.

Fast forward a week, some showers, a resume built and an interview gotten, D works at a restaurant nearby now. It is a start and I see D once a week, but I hope it is momentum enough to make sure he may regain a foothold in the fast-moving world we live in.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If allowed to stay with a host, I'd hope I could be a help in any way seen fit.

I can cook, do manual labor, teach... really, I am open to any task if you are to ask.
