About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore, think, and grow. I'm trying to satisfy my never ending restlessness by traveling to places that take me far outside my comfort zone.

ABOUT ME

I'm searching for experiences. New sights, people, music, food. I'm looking for it all. I currently live in Brooklyn, NY where I design and build sets for movies and tv shows. Traveling has taken a back seat these past couple years to the busy life of film production but I still try to sneak away from the city whenever I can to see more of the world.

PHILOSOPHY

Be a Traveler, not a Tourist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now, I can only contribute by surfing. But when I wind up in one place with a couch to offer I can give back to the project.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first surfed in Alaska in 2011 to kick off my couchsurfing career. Then, in the summer of 2014 I surfed all around Europe with my brother on an epic two month road trip from Spain to Latvia and almost everywhere in between. We stayed with so many great hosts and shared some incredible experiences. The trip would not have been the same without couchsurfing. I then did a similar trip in 2015 where I drove around the US for five months by myself. When I wasn't camping or staying with friends, I got to stay with some great couchsurfing hosts around the country. I really believe it's the best way to travel and experience new places.

Interests

Biking around NYC or tending to my little garden in Brooklyn have become recent favorites. I also steal away to hike and camp when the weather is right. I love live music, baseball games, and dangerously spicy food. I try to always have a camera on hand.

Music, Movies, and Books

It's too hard picking a favorite.. But I enjoy a wide range of genres from things that make me laugh to things that make me wonder. The really good ones are able to do both.

Movies by Scorsese, Nolan, Coen brothers, and more. Classics like Rear Window are fantastic as well.

I’m a big fan of Tom Robbins and his way of weaving philosophy into such colorful, detailed descriptions of life. Shogun and Tai Pan by James Clavell are like traveling back in time.

My taste in music is very broad. I like every thing from the funk to old school hip hop and all the jazz, soul, and rock in between. I will never say no to a bar with a groovy jam band.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In the summer of 2014 I rented a car with my brother and drove all around Europe. Every day was an adventure. Not the least of which was the day we spent in Berlin when Germany won the World Cup.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to cook or BBQ with you. I’m also handy around the house.
