About Me
ABOUT ME
I'm a rather laid back, friendly and accommodating person.
Majorly into my photography & writing, I travel whenever I finances let me in pursuit of understanding and meeting other people. I mostly travel alone, too, so I rely on the people I meet along the way for company. My photography has featured online and in books and galleries over the years. It comes into its own when I travel, more so, than in rainy old, Scotland, anyway.
PHILOSOPHY
Surround yourself with good people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I can't host people (I live in the middle of nowhere, anyway, so unless you have a car I'm unreachable).
But I'd be happy to meet up with anyone who wants company.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Once, way back when in Paris 2009. And again in Iran, although I have met many couchsurfers by chance through friends who were hosting and random encounters on my travels.
Interests
I love cooking, live music, films, walking in nature, ambling in cities, reading novels, current affairs, writing, good wine, tasty beer and good company, wildlife.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I sat in a 35C taxi on the Iraqi border for over 7 hours, fending off cigarette smugglers and trying to ration the last 10th of my water. It's amazing how I find that amusing in hindsight, considering just how un-amusing I found that at the time.
Teach, Learn, Share
Photography advice, material and theoretical. And, if you really want, I could teach you about birds...
