My name is Jakob Donath, I am 22 years old from Bavaria, Germany. Three years ago I moved to Vienna as I got a place to study Medicine there. Although I enjoy Vienna and and my studies a lot I decided to take a break in order to pursue other things. After one year I will continue my educational journey.
The first big plan is to travel from Vancouver Canada all the way south to Costa Rica with my girlfriend Johanna.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

During my EVS (European Voluntary Service) I used couchsurfing quite a lot (As Guest and as host) and I only made positive experiences. After that I didnt really have the time nor the energy to spend so I stopped using couchsurfing for the last 3 years. But now, in my free year, I want to get back in doing so and use it a lot during my( or in that case ours) big journey.
I really like the concept, a concept that is in my opinion quite unique in the modern world.
It allows you to travel in a very affordable and non touristic way which, for me at least, is the perfect way to experience a new culture.

兴趣

I am interested in a lot of things but I'd say that my biggest interest are human-beings. What is more interesting that human nature (what do they want, what makes them happy, what sad, what are their stories etc.) ?
I enjoy that the most while having a hot coffe or a cold beer in a very comfortable surrounding.

One of the things I like most about Couchsurfing is the cultural exchange that is happing as you spend your time with people from other countries. Also I love to hear stories about traveling and the experiences people made there.
I have made a lot of positive experiences by couchsurfing (mostly surfing though).
