I'm a 30 year old guy from Denmark and I have spent many years traveling and living in different places. Currently I'm on Guadeloupe for three months to do field work for my MSc. Thesis. The topic is to create a hydrological model for Marie Galante which can aid in a better understanding of the impacts of water consumption. The model shall be transposable to other islands (or places in general) so that we can compare water consumption between places - hopefully on a global scale.

Apart from my studies I am very concerned with the environment and our societal development as a whole. I started an NGO by the name WikiLCA with the aim of creating a global network that will provide awareness of our consumption and behavior on a product level - so that we might be smart enough not to destroy our own planet.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and having my perspectives challenges and my views broadened.

I basically just joined Couchsurfing - I was on it many years ago when living in Beijing. I am on the lookout for a place to stay in Guadeloupe and are hoping to use couchsurfing as a way to meet cool people that will make the stay here even more fascinating. If I manage to find a place where I can throw my bags down for more than just a few nights I will open the doors for other fellow travelers

Interests

Apart from spending a lot of time in good company with friends debating and talking about nothing to ethical concerns and environmental issues I love the sea and the mountains. I like to snorkel and scuba dive and will get myself a new pair of fins, a mask and snorkel asap so I can start enjoying the seas and reef around Guadeloupe.

I like going for walks too and I'm restless like a fat a kid in a candystore to get my running shoes on and hike the mountains of Basse Terra.

I would like to say that I do other sports, but it would not be very accurate. I used to play badminton when I was younger and I'm on a soccer team in Denmark - but primarily just for the social festivities surrounding the game.
