About Me

I am a Danish undergraduate student at NYUAD, planning to major in political science and middle eastern studies. I have chosen to study here, amongst other reasons, because of the broad opportunities to experience the world - inside and outside of the Emirates. I am 20 years of age and have traveled to 28 different countries - my favorites so far being Japan and Bosnia Herzegovina. But I am looking to travel more!

In my spare time I enjoy walking through the city searching for interesting and/or cozy spots to hang out. I also play music and do track and field.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing for the opportunity to meet interesting people with stories to tell and for a chance to get something more authentic than the top 10 spots on TripAdvisor. I'm looking for both places to stay overnight and people to spend an afternoon with.

Interests

I'm a huge sucker for heading into a forest or up on a mountain just for the sake of doing it. I love being in the nature and experiencing incredible landscapes while breathing in the fresh air and not being too dependent on the city and its conveniences. I do, however, also enjoy the city a lot, but I like to find spots that aren't too crowded, especially with traffic. Cultural experiences are also very attractive to me.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite music genre is jazz, but I listen to everything from indie rock to EDM to Eastern European folk music. I'm very versatile in that sense. In terms of books, I like Haruki Murakami a lot.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I brought my backpack, my tent and my portable stove to the northern-most areas of Japan (Wakkanai, Minami Soya, Rebun, Rishiri etc.) to hike for a week. The memories are some of the most tranquil I have.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have some interesting travel stories to tell, but for the experienced traveler, maybe not so many. I do, however, have a young man's curiosity and am very polite and talkative.
