Overview
About Me
I like exploring places, alone and with others. I’d love you to introduce me to exciting new stuff in your area!
I'm flexibly freegan/vegan and a decent enough cook, and happy to share what I make with hosts and surfers.
I also like to go crazy and jump into trying new things!
I try to make sustainable choises, eat vegan (or rather: freegan) whenever possible, like traveling but avoid flying and take the train or hitchhike instead. (I also prefer hosting people who rather travel without flying in order to not indirectly support flight industry myself! For this reason and to check whether you bothered to read my profile before you send your request: tell me your means of traveling to Helsinki! Train? boat? bicycle?) I love commune living, do some volunteer work and want to do more. I study mathematics in the University of Helsinki.
I'm mostly very calm and trustworthy. I'm also very open, one of those people who like to talk just slightly too openly about their personal shit if no one stops them. As a guest, I'm very clean and like to keep everything in order, clean the mess I make and some extra, too.
A friend's words: "Jakob is calm and pragmatic but also very warm-hearted. He makes a great, loyal long-term friend and is often wonderfully insightful as a discussion partner."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For meeting people and exploring stuff, of course! I want to familiarize myself with the local people and local fun. Tourist attractions and architecture are something I'm not particularly fond of.
I'm also looking forward to offer accommodation to other travelers in my home town, Helsinki, and maybe show some of the city beneath the surface.
