About Me

About Me

Hey! I’m Jakub (Kuba is my nickname)

@jakubbiros on Instagram,
WhatsApp: +48 537 479 934)

I’m a 23-year-old traveler from southern Poland, currently living in Iceland. I’ve been living abroad for the past few years—studying psychology in Wales, working in the UK, and now working in customer service at Blue Lagoon Iceland. I’m passionate about exploring the world and have already visited over 50 countries. My goal is to visit every country on the planet!

I’m an open-minded, friendly, and easygoing person who loves meeting new people, experiencing different cultures, and sharing stories. Whether it’s hitchhiking, camping, or just having a deep conversation over coffee, I’m always up for a new adventure. I enjoy all kinds of music and movies, depending on my mood, and I love a good party with great company.

I’ve worked in various places, from Amazon in the UK to Polish Airlines LOT’s business lounge and the airport in Keflavik, Iceland. My dream is to become a digital nomad and work online while traveling full-time.

Let’s connect, share experiences, and make great memories together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on Couchsurfing because I believe that the best way to truly experience a place is through its people. I love connecting with locals, sharing stories, and learning about different cultures firsthand. Couchsurfing allows me to travel in a way that’s authentic and meaningful—beyond typical tourist experiences.

I’m passionate about exploring the world, and my goal is to visit every country on the planet. Along the way, I want to make genuine connections, exchange knowledge, and create unforgettable memories with people from all walks of life.

I also hope to give back to the community by sharing my travel experiences, offering tips on budget travel and hitchhiking, and maybe even cooking a Polish meal or two! Whether hosting or surfing, I’m always up for an adventure and a good conversation.

Interests

My Interests

Traveling is my biggest passion—exploring new places, meeting people from different cultures, and experiencing unique lifestyles. I’ve already visited over 50 countries, and my goal is to visit every country in the world! I love spontaneous trips, hitchhiking adventures, and camping under the stars.

I’m also deeply interested in psychology and science, always curious about human behavior, personal growth, and how the mind works. Having studied psychology in Wales, I enjoy discussing topics related to mental health, social dynamics, and the way people think.

Sports and outdoor activities are a big part of my life. Whether it’s hiking, swimming, working out, or just staying active, I love the energy and freedom that movement brings.

I enjoy good music and movies, and my taste is super flexible—I listen to and watch whatever resonates with me in the moment. I also love deep conversations over coffee, casual meetups, and partying with great company.

Finally, my dream is to become a digital nomad, working remotely while traveling the world, making new connections, and living life to the fullest.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I have a very flexible taste in music—I listen to whatever resonates with me at the moment. From classic rock to electronic, indie, hip-hop, or even traditional music from different cultures, I enjoy discovering new sounds. I love music that creates a vibe and brings back memories of places I’ve traveled to.

Books:
I’m interested in psychology, philosophy, and self-development, so I often read books related to these topics. I also enjoy travel books, biographies, and anything that expands my perspective on life. Some books that have influenced me include The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari, and Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl.

Movies:
Just like with music, my taste in movies depends on my mood. I enjoy psychological thrillers, dramas, thought-provoking films, and good comedies. Some of my favorites include Into the Wild, Interstellar, Inception. I also love documentaries about science, history, and travel.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

At 17, I flew to Sweden with no plan and met a stranger at the airport who invited me to his home in Hollviken. We had an amazing three days, and he challenged me to learn Swedish in an hour and speak to his neighbors—I did it, and I’m still proud of that moment!

I’ve also:

Visited 40 countries before turning 21

Hitchhiked around the Arabian Peninsula while camping

Slept on a roundabout in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

Camped by a crocodile-filled lake in Gambia

Encountered a mother bear and cubs just 5m away in Romania

Met wild tribes deep in the Ethiopian jungle

Always chasing new adventures!

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I can share my experiences from traveling to over 50 countries—tips on budget travel, hitchhiking, and how to explore the world with minimal costs. I can also teach some basics of Polish and English. Since I studied psychology, I enjoy discussing topics related to human behavior, mental health, and personal growth.

Learn:
I’m always eager to learn about new cultures, languages, and perspectives on life. I love hearing people’s travel stories, learning about different traditions, and understanding unique ways of thinking. I’d also love to improve my skills in foreign languages and learn anything new that someone is passionate about!

Share:
I can share good vibes, deep conversations, and travel stories. I’m always up for an adventure—whether it’s exploring nature, going for a spontaneous trip, or just chilling over coffee. I can also share my knowledge about working abroad, adjusting to new cultures, and making the most out of travel experiences. And of course, I’m happy to cook a simple Polish meal or show you some of my favorite music.
