About Me

Easy-going guy coming from the beautiful city of Warsaw. I grew up there most of my life and although my home is still in Poland, I spent last 5 years abroad thanks to fantastic opportunities I was given. I was granted the scholarship for two-year study in an international high school in East Staffordshire, Great Britain. After graduation, I got accepted to New York University, which further broadened my horizons. Being a student-scholar in one of the world-spanning NYU campuses in Abu Dhabi I can keep in touch with peers from over 160 countries, thanks to whom I am learning how to be a global citizen. Living in ethnically uniform Poland and culturally diverse comunities of UK and UAE have both shaped me as a faithful patriot treasuring my roots whose biggest passion is making friends with people from all around the globe.

Interests

Since I remember the topic that ignited my mind were languages - true bridges connecting human minds. I love researching differences and similarities between various linguistic aspects and tracing vocabulary derivation. Thanks to studying in the Middle East, I try to pick up as much Arabic language as possible which I believe will help me in better understanding of the local culture.
Language is not only about social interactions, it can transcend to virtual sphere; following that mindset I got interested into programming. As a Computer Science, I would wish to contribute to the AI improvement researching the field of artificial neural network.

I am always down to some philosophical discussions about everything from metaphysics to ethics, or ''simply'' about the meaning of life ;)
I am very passionate about eastern philosophy, especially taoism (Tao Te Ching was a breakthrough in my life)

Besides that I was always impressed by stories of people who reached perfection in intended fields or fulfilled their dreams without strong financial backup. Therefore I am strong supporter of self-learning, networking, volunteering and low-budget tourism. I am also passionate about running and calisthenics, because thanks to them it costs only sacrifice and perseverence to break personal records enthusiastically shifting the barrier of the impossible. All these activities aim at one thing - proving that happiness is not about money but kindness and trust: in oneself and in other human beings.

Teach, Learn, Share

Steve Jobs, when asked for the greatest advice he can think of, said ''Stay hungry, stay foolish''. It turned out to be my life motto. Nowadays, we live in the society full of stereothypes and ignorance about almost everything so that it is increasingly easy to take everything for granted. The truth is the more I travel, the more I see how little I know. If one really wishes to enjoy life, one has to leave the comfort zone and challange yourself. Laozi smartly noticed that the bowl is useful not because of itself, but the emptiness within - I believe it applies to human mind as well. If one stops to take things for granted and free yourself, everything starts to be fascinating and awaiting to be rediscovered.

Therefore the host can expect I will always stay hungry for mutual cultural exploration and co-creating great atmosphere as well as I will stay foolish, in terms of open mind fascinated by the new.
