About Me

Hi, my name is Kuba. Yes, it's like the name of the country - Cuba. And no, it doesn't mean that I'm a Fidel Castro's (R.I.P.) son, this is Polish shortname for Jakub. Although, I try to learn Spanish and sometimes I like to trick people into thinking that I'm actually Cuban - I even managed to successfully pull this off a couple of times ;)

I'm a psychology graduate living and working in Cracow, Poland, who's dreaming about going on a crazy trip to Asia and Southern America. But before it will happen, there is still a lot of interesting places in Europe waiting to explore! During summer 2017 I plan to make many shorter or longer trips on my faithful motorbike (my only true love and best girlfriend ever). When not travelling, I usually go to the gym, practice yoga, browse dank memes, read books, try to learn new languages and skills (most recently it's game development) watch movies and TV series or hang out with international community of Cracow. Overall I'm pretty fun person to hang out with, but hey, don't just trust my word, meet me and find out!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, the reason of my presence is not very original - just like most of the Couchsurfers here, I'm looking forward to discover new places while meeting awesome people :)

Interests

Learning new languages, travelling, cinema, TV series, cooking, eating, being lazy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: high variety, from metal and rock through alternative, ska and jazz to electro and dubstep.

Books: I like smart, intelligent fantasy and besides of - of course - J.R.R. Tolkien, Terry Prachett and George R.R. Martin we have very good Polish fantasy writers, such as Andrzej Sapkowski, Andrzej Ćwiek and Andrzej Pilipiuk (apparently having "Andrzej" for your first name determines you to become a fantasy writer ;)).

My favorite movie ever is Fight Club. I like also discovering Asian cinema, especially of Chinese (Wong Kar-Wai!) and Korean directors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumping from 15 meters of height into flooded quarry in Cernavodă (Czech Republic).
