Music: mostly electronica; names such as Aphex Twin, Autechre, Biosphere, Boards of Canada, Plaid, Luke Vibert. But anything with substance will do, really.

Movies: hard to pick a few; not Hollywood blockbusters, for sure. TV series considered: Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Twin Peaks, The Decalogue, Fargo, The Sopranos, Game of Thrones (before it started to suck), The Handmaid's Tale. Anime considered: Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Steins; Gate, Death Note.

Books: Gombrowicz, literary reportage. A little bit of philosophical science fiction: Lem, Dick, Le Guin, etc. History books.
