About Me

Hey Everybody -

I’m Justin. I’m from the east coast, but have been living in New Mexico for the past six years or so, mostly down south in the town of Silver City, and more recently in the Taos area. I just recently concluded a very rich, opening and supportive life set of experiences, first care taking for a farm and business north of Taos, and then spending the summer and early fall at the Lama Foundation, an intentional community high up in the mountains above the mesa.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m on couch surfing because while I value the experience of being a solo traveler, I find my travels greatly enriched when I can connect with people. Being in a new place, regardless of the shopping and eating options, becomes flat for me without human interaction. I would always prefer to ask someone the questions I have about an area instead of doing endless internet searches. I also find that my intuition is very poor these days, so I don’t trust my own inner compass to always guide me to, say, the best coffee shop or trailhead.

Interests

I noticed, as I was trying to tag my favorite food, that “raving” is a preselected option, but sadly “ravioli” is not.

I enjoy and continue to learn wilderness backpacking. I like to play the guitar and ambient piano.

I really like happy hour priced sushi, pho, and I have been craving vindaloo or a good Indian buffet recently. There isn’t great ethnic food in rural New Mexico...
