About Me

(This section is a few years old, but we can catch up if we see each other :)

Aloha! At the moment, I am a professional turtle -- collecting only the things that can fit into my memory, my philosophy, and my 40L vacation home. (Location, Location, Location, and it has had many)

Prior to traveling, I managed a community outreach program that got our government working together with the local school system. Now it's approaching time to go to graduate school, but before I do that, I want to understand what kinds of specialists the world needs and what I can do to be of service. During that time, I'll be exploring the world, the people, and myself while doing whatever volunteer work I can along the way. If you're connected to any organizations that could use a hand, -please- let me know. Any opportunity to engage a local community is welcome.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

If you can describe a story that you see in the veins of a leaf, I will sit on the edge of my seat as you allow me to view the world through your eyes. If listening is more your style, I'll break the world down in as many ways as I can until we've both learned something about what it means to live as we do.

Traveling is a brilliant opportunity to see many things and boy have I seen some cool cathedrals, but I want to know about what you think is beautiful. Where have you made memories, what won't I find in a guidebook, what ways can I learn about the people in and the history of your area?

If that's heavy, let's grab coffee, a beer, run around the city, catch a show, go dancing, find a roof to sit on, climb a mountain, go diving, build a sandcastle, toss a frisbee. :)

I love hostels, but on most days, I'd rather engage with the local folks, because you know what's up!

When I get back to the states, I can't wait to host the people who've hosted me and anyone else who wants to come to visit. In the time being, if you're coming to Hawaii, still send me a message and I can give you information or connect you with people on the island.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can try to build any skill! Let me cook for you (vegan/vegetarian? let's do it; I don't eat meat or dairy), show you some ukulele (also carrying a harmonica and tin whistle), hold a bit of English practice, have an unbelievable amount of fun salsa dancing (123, 567)...
