About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To reduce the impact of energy use world-wide and promote energy exchange between people.
ABOUT ME
I'm traveling with my Austrian Fiancee to look for a new home, outside California. I like to think of myself as a peaceful warrior. Clean, renewable electricity is the key to health and happiness outside ourselves. We can accomplish anything if there was enough exergy to complete the task. (Exergy is the useful portion of energy exchange).
PHILOSOPHY
There are no ordinary moments. Just like the book Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman he tells the story of practicing Tai-Chi diligently in the park, focusing 100% of his consciousness on every movement, until after his practice he begins putting on his pants and trips himself. He wonders, "Why would I put focus into a meditative practice and not into my daily routines?" There are NO ordinary moments!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to provide a safe and warm place for weary travelers who are passing through Humboldt. I can only open my couch for 2-3 nights at a time at the most, in general. I travel considerably myself and also want to share experience for a night with someone. Hear ther stories and exchange ideas to make this world a better place. I plan to volunteer for CS in the summertime.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have spent many nights on another couch. In fact, before I had a girlfriend I spent more time in someone else's couch or bed than my own. No I wasn't sleeping with all those people. I am a cuddler, not promiscuous. I always seem to have a friend, or a friend of a friend that opens their house to me. That is the main reason I have not used CS.com yet. This has worked internationally as well but some places, where I know no one, I must meet like-minded caring friends and avoid over-priced corporate, chemical sterilized hotels. In those cases, I want to have built a repertoire with gracious people who have hosted me and those warmly hosted by me.
Interests
I am one of those people that has an over-abundance of interest instead of a lack. So, basically everything holds some kind of fascination. But I am most passionate about: Rock climbing, snowboarding, engineering, renewable energy, physics, Nichiren Buddhism, mediation, yoga, playing classical string music, martial arts, the outdoors, hugging, didgeridoo, drums, discipline, public speaking, traveling, experiencing something new,

Music, Movies, and Books
I am mostly interested in non-fiction works. Books are my primary entertainment: Power to Save the World Gwynth Cravens, Prescription for the Planet, anything by Dan Millman and Carlos Casteneda. I also study German language books every chance I get. Movies I like include, Who killed the Electric Car and other science documentaries. I watch few movies but Avatar the Last Airbender is one of my favorite shows, although to some it may be juvenile. Ang, the Avatar has mastered Prana channeling! Matrix, Lord of the Rings and special interest dcumentaries are some others that come to mind.
Music: Xavier Rudd, Rusted Root, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Grateful Dead, Loreena McKennitt, Enya, Kitaro, any classical music. I mostly like making my own music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I sailed from Panama to the Galapagos and across the pacific ocean on a 36' Columbia with three people.
Teach, Learn, Share
The Mentor/Disciple relationship is crucial to the progress of this world. I tutor and substitute teach at the University, Community College and High School levels. Mostly math and physics, some chemistry.
I want to learn everything I can! Especialy the best way to work and live abroad!
