Overview
About Me
I'm a Masters Student at Groningen University, or at least I will be very soon. I've been accepted and I'm looking to move to Groningen. I play computer games, I enjoy reading. I enjoy conversations, I like people who I can talk to for a few hours and be surprised we've spent the afternoon chatting. I don't enjoy writing this "About Me" section, I never know what to put. I would say I'm honest about what I don't know, that I'm generally the sort of person who tries to get along and see things from everyone's perspective (I know that I fail sometimes). I'm quiet and people often think I'm quite odd. If you like the sort of quiet country vicar sort of person who is a bit mad, a bit odd and a bit formal at first well I suppose we'll probably get along. I say that but I've got quite a dark sense of humour, let's play some Cards Against Humanity sometime.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Protomen, Turisas, Pink Floyd, Elbow, Dream Theater, this list isn't exhaustive, I'm pretty eclectic. I've not found a single genre with nothing I like in it.
Movies: The Prestige, Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, The Princess Bride, The Marvel Cinematic Universe (Pretty much all of them), 2001 a space odyssey, Primer, again, pretty eclectic.
Books: Fiction: Anything by Terry Pratchett, Isaac Asimov, Douglas Adams, Neil Gaiman. I've gotten into Arthur C. Clarke and Bernard Cornwell recently too. I've enjoyed the Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin, the Harry Potter series and the books of J. R. R. Tolkien (Silmarillion = best)
Non-fiction: Stephen J Gould, Steven Jones, and I've got a long list of books to read.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I flew half way across the world by myself for two weeks in a foreign country. Admittedly it was the US but hey, lets save the judgement for when I'm dead okay?
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach mathematics, computing tips, and British culture, how to make a proper brew (Cup of tea).
I want to learn as much as possible. I'm particularly interested in getting my Dutch improved and getting my knowledge of the Netherlands more complete.
I can share random facts about pretty much anything, I have a lot of random knowledge locked away in my head, for instance Cleopatra lived closer to the modern iPhone than to the construction of the Pyramids?
What I Can Share with Hosts
A good conversation, I would say British Cuisine but... I think that's famous enough already, jokes aside, my favourite cooking utensil is the wok, so versatile, hopefully that says something about what I like to cook. A British sense of humour. An excellent cuppa.
