I'm James. I'm from Australia but at the moment I'm living in Germany working on my PhD. I study philosophy, which I love, even if it drives me mad sometimes. I'm usually not the loudest guy in the room, but I'm very friendly once you get to know me. I love a good chat, preferably over a beer or a glass of wine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

All the usual reasons. I want to make the most of my time in Europe by meeting new people and seeing new places. I think it's hard to get the feel of a place just by visiting the standard tourist spots, so I'm looking for some locals who can show me what it's like to really live there.
