About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to travel, and show people how fun Baltimore is!
Hmmm. I need to change this. I don't really want to travel, but I try to go to Lexington as much as possible. I have a little boy who lives there. He is awesome! I try to visit whenever I can.
ABOUT ME
I work as a realtor in Baltimore. I've been selling this city to people for years, but only recently found out about many, many cool things to do here. To the outsider, it may seem a bit strange. Art is a big deal here, and it seems every night there is a different kind of party with a twisted theme. There is always something fun to do here.
PHILOSOPHY
The unexamined life is not worth living
Socrates (470-399 BCE)
I think therefore I am.
Ren Descartes (1596-1650)
Or, maybe, Pop-Eye, the sailor-man.
I only now realize how deep and true that is, from a particle physics point of view...but that takes a long explanantion.
We live in the best of all possible worlds.
Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz (1646-1716) I was a big Voltaire fan when I was a kid.
One cannot step twice in the same river.
Heraclitus (ca. 540-ca. 480 BCE)
Reality is constantly changing: We always have to re-examine life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
The best way I can participate might be... to cook? I don't know. My only skills are heavy lifting, pounding things flat, fixing things, and cleaning. But cooking is my favorite thing to do.
Driving is my least favorite, but what I'm good at. I do it a lot. Check out my rides offered here: http://baltimore.craigslist.org/trv/5198683198.html
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far, I have stayed in a house with four young students. It was cool! I got a very fun tour of the town and tried the local food.
I have stayed with local families, business owners, and graduate students. Lexington has a wide array of cool folks.
I have hosted so many interesting people. Of course, there is never a dull moment in my town, so you can expect a lot of cool people to come and check it out.
Interests
I do a lot of volunteer work for the Red Cross, but I work as a Realtor, which makes my schedule very flexible for finding fun events in Baltimore (there are sooo many). I am always re-exploring my own city, and I still haven't seen it all. If you are into art, food, and hundreds of mini-cultures (we have 278 neighborhoods) this is the best city to visit.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While coming home from a track meet in high school I was walking past the American Embassy in Athens while a communist party was protesting. Clinton placed more troops in Somalia after Black Hawk down, and people were very upset with Americans... again.
Another interesting moment was while I was white-water rafting. At the end of the season, special flood gates are opened on the upper Gauley river, making it higher then a level five. I almost died seven times going down the river, and slept very soundly that night, except I could still feel the river moving, even though I slept on the ground.
Teach, Learn, Share
So far, I have only met the nicest, coolest people. Of course, you wouldn't meet a total jerk who is willing to open their home to a total stranger, would you? Naturally, Couch-surfing folks are the most experimenting, adventurous, fun types of people you can meet. I have hosted quite a few people, and that has been a fun, positive experience.
What I Can Share with Hosts
If I visit you, I make really good iced tea for the ride down, which is simply China black tea, honey and lemon juice I squeeze myself. Well, I don't squeeze myself, just the lemons.
If you visit me, I can make you some crazy good cheeseburger pie (I now make this vegan style, too).
But, if you are visiting, the best contribution I can make is tipping you off to what is going down while you're in town. I got the scoop!
