My name is James Clifford and I am from Ireland. I am 20 years old and am much more interesting than these three details! I am currently studying in Bonn, Germany and trying to grow and expand my horizons.

I think the most important secret to a happy life is to be open and curious about anything. I try to bring this mindset with me everywhere I go. I love to collect and tell my own stories and share experiences.

I am very sporty and active, I do not like to sit still and would much rather spend my day exploring a new place than watching the TV, even when it is raining!
With that my hobbies include travelling in my area and in other countries, cooking, football and socializing. I like my University course a lot and also enjoy working so these take up a lot of my time also.

There is nothing more than I love than cooking a meal and eating with both strangers and friends!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been travelling around some countries in Europe before and we slept in hostels. My favorite thing was meeting other people and getting to share a part of my life with them and to be a small part of their story. But we didn't get to meet a lot of locals so that is something I would have liked to change.

With that my girlfriend and I are planning a journey together and CouchSurfing (and meeting others CouchSurfing) seems like the best way to meet similarly minded people and to learn more about the cultures and history of the places we are visiting!

It is my first time CouchSurfing and I am excited to join the community and make some amazing memories!

Music, Movies, and Books

So I have quite an eclectic taste in music but I predominately listen to Techno, House, Hip Hop and UK Grime. But I try not to just listen to these genres and I try to give other genres a listen, especially live.

I am more into TV series than films because films can take too much time to watch! My favorite series are Rick & Morty, Breaking Bad and Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

My favorite books are Stephan Kings 'IT', 'World War Z' by Max Brooks and the 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series by George R.R Martin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Depends on what one thinks of as amazing,

The most amazing experience of my life was this recent travelling trip I did with some of my best friends; especially seeing the amazing architecture and history of cities like Budapest.

The most amazing thing I have done is I achieved a silver medal in the European Championships for Tae Kwon Do.

But the thing I am most proud of is working hard and putting myself through University and becoming a man.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think what I can teach is some really nice Irish food (which is great as it can be stored and eaten while travelling! :) ).

I really want to learn about the history of the places we visit from locals as I feel it gives a better experience and understanding. Also I'd love to be taught some local dishes to bring back home to cook for myself and my friends!

Share? I like to think I am quite good at sharing my funny life experiences and stories!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my ability to cook! I genuinely do like to cook for groups and sit down together for a meal.

I have the traditionally Irish qualities of openness and friendliness and love to tell stories and get other people to tell their own stories, experiences and jokes! I am really good craic! (thats a phrase in Ireland for being social and fun).
