About Me

I love life! I am a big brother to 4 awesome kids, a nurse with an interest in holistic medicine, and a lover of nature. I’ve done a little bit of travel around the US, UK, and Latin America and my favorite part has always been the people I meet along the way, locals and travelers. (Plus good food and beautiful scenery.) I travel for the beautiful experiences life has to offer, and I love to share them with others.

This (summer 2019) is my first time on CS, so I am really looking forward to taking part in the community and gaining some experience, making new friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet interesting people! Travel is so much more meaningful when you are encountering humans from different walks of life and different perspectives. As a young guy without a lot of savings I also really appreciate any means of cutting costs and still getting to see the world.

I don’t have a home of my own right now, but I would love to be a host whenever I do! I absolutely love the concept of CS, that we are all part of the same family and can make space in our lives for each other.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a major Tolkien nerd. A few fantasy series and good historical fiction. Haruki Murakami is spellbinding. Charles Martin is a local author from where I grew up and has written some really meaningful stories. The Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss, American Gods by Neil Gaiman, The Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu.

I love music, whether it is alt-rock, folk, classical, some country, reggae, heavy metal, classic rock, 70's, blues, some rap. Everything from Gregorian chant to screamo. I may not be familiar with your favorite bands, and my go-to music is usually not well known, but I can almost guarantee I will enjoy whatever you do.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got the opportunity to study permaculture in Costa Rica on a thriving farm. One of the better experiences of my life.

Countries I’ve Visited

Costa Rica, Germany, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, United Kingdom
