About Me
CURRENT MISSION
currently in year two of the SPARE ROOM TOUR or the HOMELESS TILL 40 TOUR or the HOMELESS TILL I'M RICH TOUR
ABOUT ME
I'm a music publicist, rapper, deejay, journalist, author and professional whistler. I was conceived on the Pacific island of New Caledonia by my father and my mother, then a bartender at a pub popular with escaped Nazis. She was in labor when Ayatollah Khomeini chased us from Iran during the Islamic Revolution. I was born extremely shortly thereafter in Christopher Columbus' hometown of Genoa, Italy, where i had my diapers changed regularly by Miss Italy 1978. Ronald Reagan almost bombed my elementary school in Libya, killing Colonel Qaddafi’s “daughter” instead. I moved to Los Angeles during the 1992 riots, where I heard Ice Cube's “Death Certificate” album, rode the Northridge earthquake, and formed BLX, a kind of pre-internet Odd Future with more grand larceny. I left NYC a week before the Twin Towers came down, London a week before the tube bombings, and Istanbul a week before Kurds blew up the city square. I left Jamaica two days before Hurricane Gustav, and slept on a church floor in Louisiana and ate Red Cross gumbo for three days with 300 people after losing an important backpack in Hurricane Katrina. My father hates islands. I once fell asleep on a train and woke up in Spain. My best friend is a dirty cop in Belize City whose name came up during a google search on Amnesty International's most wanted list. I just spent 8 months living in New York, New Orleans, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Namibia. Currently in Penang, working.
PHILOSOPHY
levity and brevity
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Not looking to surf or host. Just looking for interesting people in the cities I visit.
Interests
Making fun of people of a race other than mine. Making fun of people in my race. Leftovers. Using the Internet. Flossing (it’s the secret to good breath).
Watching my favorite movies a thousand times. Seeing how many days straight I can wear the same shirt before it starts to smell. Packing. Unpacking. Taking pictures of dogs sat in the driver’s seat of parked cars.
Counting the number of modern pop hits that are based on the bass chords from U2′s “With Or Without You”. Taking pictures of billboards and signs with spelling errors.
Writing catchy lines for my eventual house hit: “my f***ing feet hurt… from hustling t-shirts… of Justin’ Bieber’s… musty beaver” is the current winner.
Debating with pro-gun nuts. Researching why Africa “mysteriously” has so much AIDS. Pretending to be the smart, quiet guy in the conversation.
