Hi I'm James, a 27 year old guy who loves to cook, make beer, kayak, hike, ride bicycles, and travel. I grew up near the beach right outside of New York City. When I'm free spend a lot of time fishing and kayaking in the Raritan bay and also working at the Belford Brewing Company. I studied Classics while attending college learning Ancient Greek, Latin, and the history and philosophies of Greece and Rome. After graduating I pursued a life in the kitchen where I have worked at bars, country clubs, and Drew's Bayshore Bistro, a popular Cajun-Creole restaurant near my home which is acclaimed as one of the best in the state. I'm a down to earth person who appreciates relaxing as well as exercising and being active.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing in order to meet new people who are interested in traveling and learn more about the areas I am traveling to. My older brother and friends use couch surfing and all highly reccomend it as a great way to travel if you are eager to get a real traveling experience.

My favorite bands would be Bob Marley and the Wailers, Iron Maiden, and assorted rock and roll.
My favorite movie is the Godfather and I really enjoyed the film the Revenant.
My favorite books include histories on Alexander the Great, The Brothers Karamazov, and JRR Tolkein's works.

While I was in college I studied abroad in Athens, Greece. While there a handful of students and I climbed Mount Olympus, the mountain of the gods in Greek Myth. This was truly an amazing experience and the water was the most delicious fresh thing I've ever tasted.

I've been cooking and brewing beer for the past few years and would love to share any information I have over a meal and a drink. I think food is a great ice breaker and of course it is delicious as well. Also I have my certification in TEFL, teaching english as a foreign language, and would love to help someone learn english. I am in the process of learning Spanish currently and think it could be a great trade off.
