Overview
About Me
Grew up in the Adirondacks mountains, right near Lake Champlain. I hike, bike, boat, swim, ski, board, and any other possible outdoor activity.
I went to school at SUNY Geneseo. That was an excellent way to spend four years! Graduated with my degree in math. I then moved down to Texas for a semester of graduate school. I really enjoyed the San Marcos/ Austin area, but the program was not a good fit. I worked for a while as a substitute teacher near Syracuse, NY. In August 2015, I started a new graduate program in Boise, ID.
I have traveled quite a bit with my family and on my own. In 2014, I managed to visit 23 US states and 14 foreign countries. That was certainly my most epic travel year. My goal is to visit all 50 states and 50 countries before I turn 50.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love to travel, and I want to see the parts of the city that aren't swarmed by a mass of people and cameras. Additionally, I am young and close to broke. Couchsurfing seems like the perfect way to travel on a tight budget.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I listen to a lot of classic rock, and I have recently started listening to a lot of electric swing
Movies: Inglorious Bastards, Django, basically all Tarantino films, How to Train Your Dragon, Fox and the Hound, Whiplash, and lots more.
Books: anything by Bill Bryson, Flatland, Harry Potter, lots more
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My brother and I built a functioning boat in my senior year of college. It is a 16' outrigger sailing canoe, designed to be powered by a kite instead of a traditional sail.
Teach, Learn, Share
I make a great math tutor. I have gone through a lot of strange-ish hobbies, so I have some pretty specific knowledge of certain things.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Conversation and fun stories.
Weirdly specific knowledge of high level math!
