About Me

I am a very laid back person that is happy to give everything a go at least once in my life. I love to push myself to do things that I am scared to do as this brings out the real version of yourself. I grew up in Warrington with my mother, father and two brothers. I am the youngest out of the 3 of us and very different in many ways (all good though!) I have had a passion for traveling ever since I left for Thailand back in October 2019 after spending a month working on a summer camp in Newyork. Ever since then I have wanted to continue to travel and will hopefully visit every country around the world when I get chance. Different countries interest me for different reasons but the main one is definitely the climate, closely followed by the food. Coming from the UK, our winters are full of rain and our summers very rarely reach above 30 Celsius (I am definitely I lover of hot climates)

That's not to say that I dislike the cold but I do definitely prefer the heat. I would love to learn how to snowboard one day however we dont get enough snow in the UK to learn so that's something I am going to have to go away to learn.

I think it's good to get away and see a new place at least once a year at the bare minimum. I'm not really one for a two week beach holiday where I would sit by the pool and tan all week. I would much rather spend my time hiking in nature or exploring new cities. Definitely prefer more open spaces than crowded though.

My top 3 places I have been to so far:

Pai, Thailand 🇹🇭
Krakow, Poland🇵🇱
Boston, USA 🇺🇲

I could write pages for each one and I have been to so many places already its difficult to rate them from best to worse however these 3 are very special to me mainly because of the people.

Pai, Thailand 🇹🇭
I have actually been to Pai twice now. The first back in 2019 and again In 2022. My latest trip lasted around 2 months as I was working at a party hostel. It's kind if a common theme but the reason I would rank Pai very high on my list has to be the person I met while working at the hostel. Along with the tubing, festivals and amazing street food Pai will always have a special place in my heart.

Krakow, Poland🇵🇱
I have been to Krakow 3 times now and each time has been unforgettable. The first was myself and a friend which was a more relaxed and educational trip visiting Auschwitz and the salt mines. My 2nd trip was with the lads so we spent alot of the time in bars and restaurants however this was their first time to Krakow so I did join them on the trip to Auschwitz and the salt mines. This time I was a little hungover compared to the last. We loved Krakow that much that we decided to go again the next year for some more polish vodka and trips around the town.

Boston, USA 🇺🇲
The US is somewhere I have been a few times as we have family on my mums side that live in Beverly, Massachusetts. Boston is also one high on the list due to the people I met while working at a summer camp. I am going to be going back this year in June after I have finished my trip around Asia. The camp I worked on was a day camp so we were able to travel on our weekends and evenings. The US is a great place to visit but not one I am planning to do too much traveling in due to the cost.

I want to keep on seeing the world and would love to get a real feel for how locals live their lives and what they do in their day to day life. If you are able to offer just your sofa and a blanket I would be immensely grateful for allowing me to stay in your home. If you are unable able to offer a place to stay but would like to meet up then that is completely fine. Feel free to message me and I would for you to show me around you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling for many reasons but the main one for me is the people that you meet all around the world. I usually stay in hostels if I am traveling with a group of friends but I find that you normally stick to the typical touristy locations that everyone sees. Getting shows the best spots by locals for me is something you typically cant get without using an app like couchsurfing so it's been something on my bucket list I have been wanting to try for a while now.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am a lover of pretty much all music. My parents are also big lovers of music so the radio was never off in out house when I was growing up. Alot of 70s and 80s old school classics so if you are someone that loves a sing along then do be afraid to turn up the volume (I'm going to encourage it) on a daily basis I usually listen to electronic music specifically drum and bass but I honestly will listen to anything.

I have only recently got back into reading while I have been away traveling as its given me more time to myself to do as I please. I'm currently reading the Circle by Dave Eggers which I'm struggling to put down at the moment. Very relatable how alot of people live their lives through social media and if you are someone that has seen the social dilemma on Netflix then you might also like this book. There is a movie based on the book if reading isn't your thing. The last book I finished was the art of not giving a fuck by Mark Manson is kind of like a self help book but was very entertaining with lots of comedy throughout.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The most amazing thing I have seen is a close toss up between the Taj Mahal and Angkor wat. Both beautiful in their own right and very difficult to say which one is more impressive.

The most amazing thing I have done is probably leaving the UK and traveling around Asia. I have discovered more about myself in the last 6 months than I have in the last 4 years. Traveling will always be my biggest passion
