About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to see as much of China as I can without going crazy. I've been in Guilin for a while now, but I am very eager to see many other parts of the country.

ABOUT ME

I would consider myself to be a kind and interested person. I am a very good listener. I am always ready to hear the stories of others. I have played the drums for about 15 years, mostly studying Jazz (although I have played in bands of all styles:hip-hop, rock, blues, R&B) and I've also sung in bands as well. I also love listening to music just as much as I love playing it. I can't go a day without listening to at least 3 hours of it. I graduated from the University of California at Santa Cruz with a B.A. In Linguistics, so I love language and I am definitely always down to talk about that as well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Currently reading "The Baron in the Trees" by Italo Calvino, but I usually like to read more non-fiction and autobiographies, especially those of musicians. I love comedy and documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to India when I was 18 and I saw the Taj Mahal. It completely blew my mind.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach Spanish, English, Drums, anything about music except reading it. I taught Spanish and English for a year before I came to China, and hope to take that up as a career one day.
