Overview
About Me
I'm currently enrolled at Brock University in Ontario, Canada, but I'm spending my third year studying at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic on a student Exchange. My dream job is to become a teacher. I'd like to teach abroad before I teach in Canada, so this student exchange is perfect for me to get out of my comfort zone
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe it's a premium gateway into learning about the culture of the country your host lives in. Why would I want to stay at a commercial hotel or hostel when I can live with a local who can teach me about the hottest places to go to, most importantly, the best places to eat? I've made friends in Canada through the exchange students that studied in Brock University, including people from Sweden and Japan. Although I spent a month in Vietnam as a foreigner, I'd like to feel like a foreigner spending a year in Europe. I'd like to be the one being taught about my host's country as well as teaching my host about my country if they're interested in learning about Canada.
Interests
Cultures from around the world. I love learning about new cultures and everything that surrounds them, including food, art, traditions, parties, festivals, music, theatre, history, landmarks, etc. I love learning about the way these things differ in my culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
I'm very open-minded about music, but The Beatles, Lana Del Ray, Queen, Frank Sinatra, Adele, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Nirvana and the Foo Fighters hold special places in my heart.
Movies:
On the top of my head, these are my top 10 favourite movies: Fight Club, Toy Story, Mad Max, Aliens, A Clockwork Orange, Shrek, The Dark Knight, Hellboy, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and Iron Man
Books:
With the exception of romances, I'm very open-minded about what I'm reading. The Hobbit is my favourite book of all time though.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2012, I lived in Viet Nam for a month teaching high school kids English. The process of getting there and back to Canada makes every flight I've taken since then look easy. I spent 13 hours flying from Toronto to Seoul, where there was a 4 hour layover. Finally, I flew from Seoul to Hanoi in Vietnam for 4 hours. I did all of this without sleeping, not because I wanted too, but because it's very hard for me to sleep on plans. Although I was exhausted by the time I arrived, I arrived nonetheless.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm very open-minded about what I talk about. I'm very interested in learning about the culture of my host's country, so I'd love to talk about that. I'd love to share things about Canadian culture if my host is interested.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm pretty good at cooking, but when it comes to cleaning, I'm an expert. I find it very therapeutic. I want to be a great guest, so feel free to let me know anything else I can share with you. I like to hang out at bars, pubs, restaurants, tourist spots, etc, so I'll be happy to treat my host to food/drinks.
