Overview
About Me
I'm 27, living with 3 roommates aged 25 to 32 in a 4 bedroom house in Coquitlam, BC, Canada. Live with two adorable cats, do a lot of hiking and cycling.
In general I'm super active; I cycle commute 20km a day for work, compete in alley cat bike races in Vancouver, love playing sports of all kinds - picking up and working on my skills in Squash currently.
I'm super nerdy too! Love learning about all things; finished my degree at Simon Fraser University but have been continuing to take courses online for free on sites like Coursera. Super interested in neuroscience and engineering, which are the main areas I've been taking my personal interest courses in.
I've been brewing my own beer for almost 5 years now; I rent out space from a local ubrew company and use their ingredients and find delicious recipes for providing my friends and I with great and cheap beer!
I love meeting new people and trying new things! =D
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love the idea of people helping each other out and providing an alternative to the standard capitalist spend money to get anything in this world mentality. I've had amazing experiences with Couchsurfing, particularly on a backpacking adventure through Europe in 2015 I went on with my brother, where I've met a lot of amazing people and been on all the more interesting adventures to places and events I likely would not have found otherwise. I'm here to share and have new experiences with people, whether at home hosting or abroad and being hosted.
Interests
Super interested in cycling, both for leisure and for competition - if anyone has any information about alley cat races in Europe I would love to hear about them!!
Love sports of all kinds. Love learning new things, currently learning about all of the harmonious relations between mathematics and music. Love playing games, particularly board and card games! I find they're a great way to get to know people and have fun at the same time.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a fan of literally every genre of music. I attend every performance the Vancouver Opera company puts on, and enjoy frequenting the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. I love good punk and metal, especially live, and of various kinds. Especially love a lot of the 90's classic bands. Some bands I like in various genres, just as examples: Slayer, Lamb of God, Septic Flesh, Amon Amarth, Sepultura, Radiohead, Muse, Mastodon, Rancid, Minor Threat, Antiflag, Rammstein, Tom Waits, Led Zeppelin, Velvet Revolver, Tech N9ne, Eminem, Sigur Rós, Combichrist, Caravan Palace, Rage Against the Machine, Die Antwoord, In Flames, Skinny Puppy, Pennywise, Tool, Deftones, and many more. I'm always down to hear some live music and check out a new band!
Movies I like are varied, some examples: Gladiator, V for Vendetta, eternal sunshine of a spotless mind, Hannibal, pirates of the Caribbean, harry potter, and many others.
Books, I used to read only SciFi and fantasy, last few years I've only read non-fiction and classic literature. Trying to expand my knowledge base, and I genuinely enjoy learning new things constantly. Book I'm currently working on: "Gödel, Escher, Bach: an eternal golden braid"
