About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Opting out of the everyday, with my hardworking boots, dirty denim, a beat in my ears, shades on my face, ready to explore the next crevice, drink that wine and munch down on that crusty baguette.

ABOUT ME

I am post-poning the daily grind with a grand adventure in Europe. Always moving, discovering new places to hang, things to eat, good times to share and people to help me paint on this canvas of life.

A 21 year old heralding from Newcastle, Australia, I am used to blue skies, bright beaches and hot pies. I also lived in the Netherlands for almost two years. This isn't the first time I've travelled Europe, but it is my first solo trip.
Always up for a game of sport, a beer at the pub, a game of Fifa, a discussion or head to the club to dance the night away!

PHILOSOPHY

I am an open minded, fun loving Christian that doesn't worry about tomorrow. If I'm wrong, let's move on and learn. Mistakes are essential to development.
I have a can-do attitude that is willing to try new things, but I'll stick to my morals too!

Never stop learning.
Do it a better way.
Why? - Why not?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I attend local CS events, meet up with fellow travellers or locals, surf with some rad people. When I'm back in Australia I hope to be able to host too!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a bunch of amazing experiences with couchsurfing, that has made my trip sustainable and memorable. I've made friends, dumpster dives with fellow surfers, gone to meet ups and cooked and eaten yummy food!
Thanks Couchsurfing!

Interests

"Let's Go!" That's my exclamation when you ask me to play football, tennis, rugby, skating, riding, table tennis or any number of sports and fun activities.

"What on earth are you doing?" is the question you ask incredulously as I move to the beat as stylishly as possible (may not be stylish). I adore music, the emotions it invokes; the calmness of Ben Howard, the energy of Wave Racer, the summer happiness of Bombay Bicycle Club. You'll rarely catch me not drumming a tattoo or walking in time to the beat in my ears.

I am an avid reader, and love immersing myself in a novel as I live yet another life inside the pages. I also keep up to date on the latest tech and fashion.

Music, Movies, and Books

Ask me!
I'm currently reading the epic novel series 'Wheel of Time' by Robert Jordan.

I'm currently watching Breaking Bad (no spoilers pls), Legend of Korra, and VGHS.

I'm currently listening to over 50 genres of music, predominantly indie, electronic, bounce, house, christian, folk, electropop, post punk and alternative.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

First world anarchy, here's two amazing things:

1.)
South France holiday.
Sitting with family and friends, eating fresh home-made bread, sipping on rosé, home-made cheese, home-grown vegetables, a chicken from next door, all on a glorious summer afternoon. We get up, we play badminton. Next course is up. It is dinner time, but we've been eating the whole time. Cheese fondue, Yum! More Rosé, soft French music drifts from inside the house. Lean back in your chair, close your eyes and sigh in contentment.

2. Skiing in Austria.
Christmas day. You swim in a heated pool, snow heaped up against the windows outside. Common room, a harp plays tinkling sounds of warmth. Time to gear up. Up the mountain. Haven't skied since I'm 3. Dad says "to the top!"
"I don't know how to ski!"
"Well, you'll learn! Up we go!"
Proceed to fall down the mountain for an hour. That run should take 5 minutes.
Finally get it. I've smooth steeze now. Let's try snowboarding! "Good idea James!"
Fall down for an hour. My brother bails. My other brother bails. My friend bails. Just me..."Let's do this". Total 2 hours, now I've the smooth steeze again. Carve down the mountain. Stop carving, straight down! The icy wind in my eyes, faster, faster. Just like longboarding, I've got this!
Rinse, repeat. Best Christmas Ever.

Teach, Learn, Share

I put on hold my degree in education, so I am literally going to be a teacher, so I can teach you plenty of things! Like: English, football, subtle humour, british spelling, how to set up your computer, how to polish your boots, ways to tie your scarf, design, fashion, touchtyping, selling random stuff, cooking and how to eat a raw egg!

Never stop learning- I'm always keen to learn a new skill or experience a new facet of culture. I want to learn your language, your speciality cuisine, and why you thought that launching green morph suits into North Korea was a good idea.
