About Me

I'm interested in the idea of getting to know different cultures and make lifelong friends along the way. I love how traveling can open your mind, heart and eyes to new experiences.

Kind hearted and open-minded, creative individual :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I seek to explore, to connect with my fellow humans, gain further cultural exposure and learn from one another, to share food, recipes, stories and deep conversation beyond surface chat.

Interests

I'm a creative individual into art and design, illustration, painting, singing, cooking and baking. Huge lover of the outdoors - backpacking/hiking, primitive camping, cycling, kayaking, canoeing, archery, rewilding. Really into tasty food and various cultures and would love to learn more and meet friendly individuals along the way. I'm also into philosophy, yoga, meditation and practical spirituality in relation to self knowledge.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the "related artists" feature on Spotify. It's how I've discovered so many talented, less mainstream musicians. I enjoy most any music (indie, 80s, electronic, etc.) except anything with intentionally harmful lyrics. Recent authors include Joseph Campbell, Moore, Robert Bly, Heinlein and other various mythological and self awareness works. I enjoy all kinds of movies, especially Sci Fi and Fantasy variety.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

How could I list just one?

I randomly met and stayed with the most hospitable and amazing family for a month in Turkey eating fresh figs, almonds and olives while sun bathing and swimming in the Mediterranean ocean.

Hiked the Himalayas (Annapurna circuit) in Nepal, up to 5,000 meters elevation.

Spent a week on the Appalachian Trail and got to meet some fascinating people doing the thru-hike (entire 5-6 months), reconnected with nature in a way I will never forget.

I've spent three nights caving/spelunking at the Craighead Caverns in Tennessee, going deeper and further into the cave system while exploring various sections including the Lost Sea (largest underground lake in North America) and seeing the tracks of a large Pleistocene jaguar! (Oops, that's more than one thing :D)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my knowledge of anatomy and self massage techniques as well as my understanding of self knowledge, archetypes and mythology and stages of human consciousness. We are not alone and we are intrinsically connected to each other.
