About Me

I'm a 22 year old guy who is stoked to see the world and the people in it. I'm someone who is on the hunt for memories, and stories to tell the grand kids. I want to visit every country in the world, telling stories with others through film and music along the way. Eventually I plan to open up a jazz club and record store in the city I enjoyed the most. I believe that the key to living a fulfilling life is getting out of your comfort zone and trying new things even if it's crazy! I love learning about anything and everything , and even though I have strong personal beliefs I'm still very open-minded and would love to learn about your beliefs and/or culture! People are the most incredible thing on this planet and I want to meet as many as I can!

Cheers!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a marvelous platform to meet like minded people, be of help to some if you can, and discover places to stay for a local experience and new friend abroad! I travel around a lot chasing boulder fields to climb, mountains to snowboard down, good food to eat, bands to listen to, trails to hike, and interesting places to explore. This website is a haven for people who are doing similar stuff!

Music, Movies, and Books

40's-60's Jazz Music and 60's -80's Proto/Punk Rock Music. I also collect vinyl records. LaLa Land, The Sandlot, Seven Samurai, Roma, High Fidelity, and Reservoir Dogs are some of my favorite movies. My favorite book is probably either "The Piano Shop on the Left Bank" by Thad Carhart, or "Kitchen Confidential" by Anthony Bourdain.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was living in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti over the summer in 2018, the orphanage I was working at in the present moment had run out of mangoes. There was a large team coming later in the evening, and we NEEDED Mangoes. So, a Haitian friend of mine and I went out in a Jeep to get more Mangoes from the local market. Almost as soon as we pulled out of the gate a monsoon like rain hit. It was pouring down buckets everywhere and the streets started flooding almost immediately. Everyone was running around trying to get their goods out of the rain, but we pressed on. We went to the first market and got out to try and find some Mangoes, they had no Mangoes and we got soaked. We went to another market, same story. We went to the last market in the area and thank goodness, they HAD Mangoes! We negotiated in the rain for like 2 minutes because we honestly couldn't get any wetter. Then we bought all the Mangoes they had and headed back to the orphanage. Almost as soon as we pulled back into the gate it stopped raining. So long story short, I drove a Jeep around a third world country looking for mangoes in a monsoon.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some of my recipes from back home, basic juggling skills, how to belay and understand grades in a climbing gym, and answer pretty much any questions you may have about vinyl records! I'd love to learn about most anything! I can share all of my travel stories and I'd love to hear your stories as well! I love to cook, I love to discuss movies, music, books. I love any outdoor activities, and I love working on projects, especially if it involves building or installing something!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hopefully I can share some enriching conversation, a memorable experience and a few stories. I'd also love to help cook food :)
