About Me
Hey guys, So I was born and raised in England but lived in France for 10 years. I moved to Hanoi a year and a half ago and I'm absolutely loving it here. I was a chef back home but since moving here I've been teaching English to all age groups. I know work as a coordinator for a strong NGO called Mercury and I'm looking to get new people on board. I'm a sociable guy always on the go and willing to help out wherever I can.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I believe I've got a brilliant place for you to stay in Hanoi. The NGO I work for specializes in teaching English to Vietnamese students who otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity to afford the steep prices of classes. The reason I'm on CS is to try and find likeminded people who are interested in teaching English in Hanoi and want to get to know the Vietnamese culture first hand from the people themselves. Mercury has several projects including Home-stay, Teaching students in good facilities and some children's classes. We are looking for long term Volunteers looking to commit to a month or more, We offer home cooked vietnamese meals everyday and a fun, comfortable environment to live in while you help us. If you are willing to commit to 2 months or more we offer other benefits, such as help with Visas, pick-up from airport and a stipend after 3 months. I love this organisation and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow with the help of all the great people who dedicate their time and effort to the cause. I hope you will be one of those people and I can't wait to welcome you to the family.

Teach, Learn, Share
I've been teaching here for over a year so I would be happy to share any knowledge on that front. I speak french and I'm always eager to help anyone wishing to learn it. I also have a few handy recipes up my sleeve that I don't mind sharing. That would be my personnel
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can open a network of young vietnamese, English teachers and volunteers for you here in Hanoi. I'll help you get to know the city and make you feel at home. I can introduce you to a growing community of people traveling around the world in search of helping where they can. You can get to meet Vietnamese people in their own environment and offer you a unique insight to their culture and language. If you are looking to stay and teach long-term in Hanoi or it's surroundings I can give you a chance to get some experience before you dive into the professional world of teaching.
